Welcome to The Home of the College Poker National Championships™
The College Poker Championships™ is the only National Poker Championship for university and college students in the United States. The College Poker Championships™ was created for College poker enthusiasts to provide a "March Madness" type Championship whereby students can demonstrate their Collegial support and exhibit their School colors in a funfilled Tournament that determines a National College Champion. CPC events are built around relatively inexpensive School "Sectionals" sponsored by local casinos which determine individual University Champions and feed the main event comprised of the Regional Conference Championships and the National Finals on the same Weekend.
The CPC's goal is to bring aspiring university and college poker players to the forefront of the poker world, by holding Sectional tournaments, culminating with the CPC’s Main Event. The CPC will pit school versus school, and player versus player, in an attempt to find the best university and college poker players in the country. The Sectional tournaments will take place in a designated gambling establishment within each region, and will feature 500 students from that region’s schools, all playing for cash prizes as determined by participating casino guidelines, as well as a chance to represent their school at the $1 Million Guaranteed CPC Main Event. The top 5 finishers from every Sectional tournament will walk away with huge cash prizes, and an invitation to be apart of history as one of the lucky players to challenge for the right to be called College Poker’s National Champion at the CPC Main Event.
Each Sectional event will be documented and filmed for television with professional camera crews and announcer teams. This inaugural Championship will begin in January 2010 with the goal of airing the first episode of the College Poker Championship on stations later that same year Nationwide.
