The search for the National College Champion and the next Poker Superstar has begun, as thousands of poker players from around the Country proudly representing over 120 of the largest Universities and Colleges descend on Sectional Championships throughout the U.S. leading to the Regional Conference Championships and the National Collegiate Title to be held in Palm Springs, California at the College Poker National Championships™.
The College Poker Championships™, brought to you by College Poker Championship Productions™ ("CPCP"), is the only No Limit Texas Hold'em National Poker Championship for university and college students in the United States. CPCP sponsors Sectional poker tournaments every school year, culminating with a Main Event Weekend that determines Regional Conference Championships and which school and student will reign as the National College Poker Champion. Each Sectional tournament takes place in cities near the selected universities and colleges, and features 500 students vying for a spot in the coveted Main Event. While dozens of entrants win cash prizes in these Sectional tournaments, only the top 5 players from each tournament will have a chance at the Main Event and over $1 Million in guaranteed winnings.
CPCP films each Sectional tournament for television, with professional camera crews and announcer teams.
The College Poker Championships™ is meant to determine this year's up and coming college poker players and who the next world famous poker superstar will be. The goal of CPCP is to produce great poker events, and to highlight the rigors and rewards of being a member of and winning the College Poker National Championship™. Every minute of agony and joy, the bad beats, and all of the excitement, will be recorded and filmed for the world to see and history to remember.
